Man accused of plotting to kill pleads not guilty, will stand trial

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- 54-year-old Daniel Plevak of East Troy, the man accused of plotting to kill an old acquaintance, pleaded not guilty in court on Wednesday, January 23rd. Plevak pleaded not guilty and will stand trial in the case.

Plevak is charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide and possession of a firearm by a felon. His preliminary hearing was delayed on Monday, January 14th because his attorney told the court he did not have enough time to prepare for the hearing.

According to the criminal complaint against Plevak, he had been planning to kill a Wauwatosa man for at least six months.

The complaint indicates Plevak would drive through the intended victim’s neighborhood in a Penske rental truck. After getting a tip from a neighbor, police pulled the truck over. Plevak was driving the vehicle.

If convicted on the attempted homicide charge, Plevak faces up to 60 years in prison.
