Couple to finally be married due to Ravens making Super Bowl

BALTIMORE (CNN) -- They met at a Ravens-Giants Super Bowl party and their relationship blossomed, but something kept them from tying the knot. Now, they're getting married at this year's Super Bowl game!

Daisy and Jim made a promise to one another after meeting at a Ravens-Giants Super Bowl party 12 years ago: if the Ravens ever made it back to the big game, they would get married.

"We said, 'Now, it's going to happen, the next time the Ravens go, that's when were going to finally get married,'" Daisy Sudano said.

They started making plans to elope in New Orleans on Super Bowl weekend and just watch the game on TV. However, the folks at AL Packers' White Marsh Ford and Ravens player Gino Gradkowski came up with a huge surprise for the couple.

First, a meet and greet with Gino and some Visa gift cards. Then, the surprise of a lifetime: Super Bowl tickets!

"It was nice to hear the story, and when I heard they weren't going to the game, that's when we decided we had to change their fortunes. It's just exciting to see how excited the fans get for us and how much they go out of their way to support us and it's always good to do something back for them," Gradkowski said.

Daisy and Jim have decided to drive to New Orleans and camp out in tents. They've even scoped out wedding locations on the internet.

"Ecstatic, this is…  we've been waiting a long time and this is really special the way it's happening," Jim Pellegrini said.

"I think he really wanted to do it now because then he will never forget our anniversary (laughs)," Daisy Sudano said.

Daisy Sudano says part of her wedding planning includes shopping for a purple wedding dress on the internet.
