Admirals bitten by Wolves, lose 5-2

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee Admirals gave up four first period goals and couldn't dig their way out before falling to the Chicago Wolves 5-2 during an Amtrak rivalry game Friday night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

Chicago’s Alex Friesen was able to get a tip past Jeremy Smith at 6:06 to start off the goals for the game. Chicago tallied another goal at 8:49 by Bill Sweatt while the Admirals were on the penalty kill. At 12:50 of the first Guillaume Desbiens gave the Wovles a 3-0 lead and, immediately after a Milwaukee time-out Michael Davies tipped a shot past Smith at 14:26 to make it 4-0.

Chicago’s Eric Kattelus scored a power-play marker for his first AHL goal at 4:41 of the second period to pump the lead to five.

Milwaukee finally got on the board at 11:06 of the second when Mark Van Guilder received a pass from Kevin Henderson just outside the post and scored short handed.

Cam Reid was able to snag his first goal of the season after tipping in a shot delivered from Mike Moore at 7:16 but that was as close as the Ads could get despite outshooting Chicago 23-6 in the third period.

The Admirals return to action on Friday, February 8th when they host the Houston Aeros at 7:00 pm at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
