35-year-old man shot, killed near 48th & Wright

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A 35-year-old Milwaukee man was shot and killed near 48th and Wright on the city's north side Monday morning, February 4th.

Police say the man was shot around 7:30 a.m. in a residence near 48th and Wright during an argument with a 32-year-old woman. He died at the scene.

Authorities say the woman has been taken into custody.

Latonya Morris and her daughter rushed to the scene after hearing that her children's father, Anthony Martin was shot to death.

"I never believed this would happen to him. He was a good person. I don't understand this," Morris said.

Police and forensic investigators were on the scene. Crews later towed away a white sedan with a big dent on the driver's side.

"I can't explain my pain. Just to know that he is gone -- he was everything to me. He was my other half," Morris said.

Martin's daughter Armoni said she can't help but recall her last moments with him. She says he was a kind and encouraging father.

"He would always make sure me and my momma -- everybody good. Always put a smile on our face. I just talked to him yesterday and he told me 'I expect more out of you I expect you to do what I didn`t do,'" Armoni Martin said.

Morris says Martin has three children he left behind.
