Sturtevant man arrested for commercial burglary at tavern

RACINE (WITI) -- Racine police have arrested 40-year-old Kyle Kraft of Sturtevant, who has been charged with burglary of a building or dwelling (repeater) and misdemeanor bail jumping (repeater) for an alleged burglary of Joey's Tavern in Racine.

Kraft was arrested for a commercial burglary at Joey's Tavern, located on Taylor Avenue in Racine.

Officials responded to the tavern to a report that a suspect had fled the scene on food. Officers discovered pry marks on the back door, and a single set of footwear impressions in the snow leading away from the scene.

Officers followed the footprints winding through several blocks, before locating Kraft in the area of the Washington Park High School baseball field.

Kraft was taken into custody without incident, and was found to be in possession of evidence of the burglary -- including $264.25 in cash.

Kraft was also discovered to be out on bond for a previous arrest.
