RACINE CO. (WITI) -- An officer with the Racine Police Department was hurt after his squad ended up in a ditch on I-94 near Seven Mile Rd. The resulting crash temporarily shut down a lane on the interstate around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5th.

Officer Waystedt was taken to St. Mary's Hospital with minor injuries to his back and face from airbag deployment.

Officer Waystedt is an 18-year veteran of the Racine Police Department and a K-9 handler. Officer Waystedt's partner, K-9 Marco, was not in the squad at the time of the accident.
