Homeowners think spring at annual NARI Show

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- As some enjoyed the recent snowfall this weekend, others sought refuge indoors, and spring was likely on their minds as they browsed the offerings at the annual NARI Home Improvement Show at Wisconsin State Fair Park.

Though there is snow on the ground and a chill in the air, there was a summertime setup at State Fair Park on Sunday, February 10th for the annual NARI Home Improvement Show.

"It`s really a great space to come and get ideas," Dave Amoroso said.

Homeowners browsed for ideas and got caught up on this season's trends.

Chris and Linda Witzlib attended the show to get some ideas for their newly built home.

"We're definitely ready for spring. We built a new home and we're on the patio part of it," Christ Witzlib said.

"We want to go out the side door and sit out in the back by the fire pit and enjoy our yard," Linda Witzlib said.

The Witzlib's took in the huge landscaping display sitting in the middle of the Expo Center, near patio furniture resting on bricks, a stone bar and a grill waiting to be fired up. The Witzlib's said it was a great opportunity to get some ideas and start planning.

"Now is the time to start planning, to start deciding on what products, what plants, what area of the yard you want to work on this year," Dean Pipito with Aquatica said.

The NARI Home Improvement Show offered tips for remodeling every part of the home, both inside and outside, from landscaping to window treatments and bathroom upgrades.

"This is an opportunity for consumers to come out, homeowners to come out and see everything that`s new -- something they can do on the inside or outside of their home," Amoroso said.

The NARI Home Improvement Show is in its 51st year. FOX6 News is told over 20,000 people attended this weekend's show.
