Bowling tournament planned in honor of teen who died in crash

KENOSHA (WITI) -- 16-year-old Casey Petricek, a student at Westosha Central High School was killed in a car crash in early December. Now, a bowling event has been planned in her honor.

Sheriff's officials say Petricek was driving on Highway 142 just after 3:00 on Friday afternoon, December 7th. After losing control and crashing into another car, Petricek was airlifted to Froedtert Hospital where she later died.

Sheriff's officials say speeding is what caused Petricek to veer into oncoming traffic.

Petricek was an honor student and participated in basketball, volleyball and bowling. She was a talented musician who could play clarinet, trombone, guitar and taught herself to play piano.

Casey was a high school bowler -- thus, the bowling event in her honor.

The bowling tournament will be held on February 24, 2013, at Paradise Lanes.

First shift starts at 9:00 am, and second shift starts at 12:00 pm.

Entry fee will be $20.00 per person. Entry forms can be dropped off at Paradise Lanes, or Old Settlers.

There will be 50/50 drawings, silent auction and Bowling Ball Raffles.

Money raised will be split between Petricek’s family, and to the winners.

Awards to be given to boys, girls, adults and coaches.

There are two ways to help -- the first is just any donation you can make.  Or, you can pledge per pin. However many pins your bowler makes you pay that amount. Example: You pledge $.05 per pin and your bowler bowls a 500 series, you would pay $25.00.
