24-year-old store clerk shot in Racine Thursday afternoon

RACINE (WITI) -- Racine police are investigating a shooting that occurred near 16th and Packard on Thursday afternoon, February 28th just before 2:30 p.m.

Police say the shooting occurred at a corner grocery store -- the Twins Food Mart, and the victim shot is the 24-year-old clerk and store owner.

The victim was transported from the scene to a hospital, and was conscious and breathing at the time of transport. He is said to have non life threatening injuries.

Police are investigating whether this was a robbery attempt or some other sort of altercation.
