Ignacio Ramirez pleads not guilty to drug charges in Racine

RACINE (WITI) -- 23-year-old Ignacio Ramirez pleaded not guilty on Wednesday, March 6th to a host of drug charges in Racine County.

Ramirez is charged with one count of possession with intent to deliver THC as party to a crime, use of a dangerous weapon, possession with intent to deliver cocaine as party to a crime, use of a dangerous weapon, maintaining a drug trafficking place as party to a crime, use of a dangerous weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia as party to a crime.

A criminal complaint in the case indicates officers discovered more than 11 pounds of marijuana, 14.4 grams of cocaine, drug packaging and drug paraphernalia at a Racine home. Two handguns, an assault rifle and ammunition were also recovered from the residence. The street value of the marijuana was approximately $57,500.

Investigators also seized a very large amount of name brand clothing items to include jeans, shirts, jackets, shoes and approximately 75 bottles of quality cologne, all brand new with store tags still attached, and $2,775 in US Currency.

The criminal complaint indicates when interviewed, Ramirez told officers he had been laid off since July 2012. Ramirez told police the drugs they found were his.

Ramirez is due back in court on April 19th.
