Patient found after escaping from Milwaukee Co. Mental Health Hospital

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Police say 33-year-old Charmain Evans-Brooks is back in custody after she escaped from the Milwaukee County Mental Health Hospital early Wednesday, March 6th.
According to police, Evans-Brooks was under emergency detention at the facility when she escaped with the help of her boyfriend, 22-year-old Gerald Gillie, around 1:45 a.m.
According to police, Gillie went to the facility under the pretense of checking himself him. However, when staff opened the door from the secure area, Gillie held it open for Evans-Brooks to flee. Officials say the two fled the scene on foot.
As of late Wednesday afternoon, Gillie was still listed as "at large and wanted by the Sheriff's Office."

The Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division is conducting an investigation into the incident.
