Attorneys for Jerry Sandusky file statement for appeal

PENNSYLVANIA (CNN) -- Attorneys for Jerry Sandusky filed a statement Monday, March 11th explaining what arguments they intend to raise to appeal his child sexual abuse conviction.

The filing argues that the former Penn State assistant football coach didn't get a fair trial.

And, it says his attorneys didn't have enough time to prepare their defense.

Sandusky was sentenced to 30 to 60 years in prison last year.

He says he is innocent.

The case led to tough NCAA sanctions against the Penn State football program and to the resignation of head coach Joe Paterno -- who later died.
