Donald Trump offers to foot the bill for White House tours

WASHINGTON, D.C. (CNN) -- Donald Trump says he'll foot the bill to keep the White House tours open for the rest of the fiscal year.

On Twitter last week Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich volunteered Trump to pick up the tab.

The White House canceled tours through September 30 because of forced spending cuts that took effect March 1st.

The plan will reportedly save the U.S. Secret Service $74,000 a week.

So far, no comment from the White House on Trump's offer.
