Milwaukee man arrested following fatal shooting on city's south side

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police are investigating a homicide that occurred near  S. 5th Street and Burnham St. Sunday night, March 10th.

According to police, a 49-year-old Milwaukee man shot 39-year-old Daniel Perez of Milwaukee following an argument with the mother of his child.

According to authorities, the 49-year-old suspect was involved in an argument with the mother of his child around 6:30 p.m. During the argument, the woman called a Perez, male acquaintance, to the scene. When Perez arrived, he was shot and killed by the 49-year-old suspect.

The suspect fled in his car but was arrested a short time later when he crashed into a parked car in the 1800 block of S. 13th Street.

The suspect will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office in the coming days for possible charges.
