Daymeon McCune pleads guilty in stabbing death of man

CUDAHY (WIT) -- 25-year-old Daymeon McCune pleaded guilty on Monday, March 18th to second-degree reckless homicide in connection with the stabbing death of 52-year-old Brian Zurfluh. It was part of a plea deal -- McCune originally faced a charge of first-degree reckless homicide.

The stabbing in this case happened on early on Saturday, December 22nd. Authorities received a 911 call regarding a stabbing within an apartment complex at Layton and Kirkwood in Cudahy.

Upon arrival, officers found Zurfluh with a significant stab wound to his back. Zurfluh was transported to Froedtert Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Officials say around 2:11 a.m. on December 22nd, St. Francis police stopped Daymeon McCune, someone they say was a person of interest, and brought him in for questioning. Around 8:23 a.m. police initiated a homicide investigation, and McCune was arrested in connection with the homicide.

McCune will be sentenced on Friday, April 26th.
