Cudahy aldermanic candidate accused of sleeping with prostitute

CUDAHY (WITI) -- A candidate for alderman in Cudahy is accused of sleeping with a prostitute. A police report outlines a sting, after a confidential informant told police she had sex for money with the aldermanic candidate twice, and he was calling again.

Yard signs in Cudahy show support for aldermanic candidate Bob Schmadl.

However, a police report says officials got word Schmadl was implying he was associated with the Cudahy Police Department while soliciting an escort for sex.

The report says a confidential informant says she met Schmadl at a Cudahy bar, and he indicated he was either an employee or close associate of the Cudahy Police Department and could influence police, so they wouldn't enforce the law when it came to their encounter.

With the help of police who taped it all, the informant returned Schmadl's call. The police report indicates Schmadl agreed to pay $50 for sex, and he allegedly agreed to pick her up in the rear of a building in Cudahy.

When Schmadl arrived, police took him into custody.

The police report says when Schmadl realized police taped his call with the informant, he admitted to meeting with her twice before -- one time for $50, and another time for $75. One time, the report says Schmadl admitted they had sex.

The report says Schmadl never said he was affiliated with Cudahy Police, but he may have worn a Milwaukee Police T-shirt.

Schmadl didn't answer the door when FOX6 News visited his home on Thursday. He later told FOX6 News over the phone that he intends to contest this citation, and asked how this incident is relevant to his run for office.

Schmadl was supposed to appear in court in Cudahy on the citation Thursday, but because he is running for alderman, the judge recused himself from the case and it was sent to Franklin.

The Franklin judge also recused himself, saying he had apparently had contact with Schmadl in the past.

The court administrator is currently looking for another city to hear the case.
