Ticket sold in New Jersey wins $338 million Powerball jackpot

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Someone in New Jersey just got really, really rich. A winning ticket for Saturday night's $338 million Powerball jackpot was sold in the state, lottery officials said early Sunday.

The ticket matched all six numbers drawn: 17, 29, 31, 52, 53 and 31. The lottery is held in 42 states, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the District of Columbia.

The largest Powerball jackpot in history was $587.5 million. A ticket purchased in Arizona and another in Missouri shared the prize in November.

The Powerball jackpot will return to its starting point of $40 million for Wednesday's drawing.
