Milwaukee man leads search for his missing wife

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A Milwaukee man is leading the search for his missing wife. Family last saw 40-year-old Estella Currin on Sunday morning, March 24th. But FOX6 News has learned, other people may have seen Currin as late as Tuesday.

Jeffrey Currin is going throughout the city, hanging up flyers, talking to people, trying to get clues to where his wife could be.

"I'm here passing out flyers trying to retrace her steps," said Currin.

Estella Currin was last seen leaving for work Sunday morning. She was on the city's north side, but her wallet and keys were found in a parking garage near the lake just east of the downtown area.

As Jeffrey Currin hangs those flyers, he's given renewed hope. People he's spoken to claim to have seen his wife near Stark and Hopkins. Workers at Brothers Tires say she stopped in briefly and asked to use the telephone.

"She talked to someone like 30 seconds to a minute and she said thank you and walked out the door," said Robbie Pompey, who claims to have seen Currin.

It is an interaction Pompey remembers. He says Estella Currin was not acting normal.

"She just seemed like something was wrong with her.  And she just looked at me and walked out the door," said Pompey.

Milwaukee police have been notified of the sighting at the tire shop. They tell FOX6 News they are following up on any leads.

Anyone with information on Estella Currin's whereabouts is urged to contact the Milwaukee Police Department at 414-935-7271.
