Brewers snap losing streak with victory over Cubs, 7-4

CHICAGO (WITI) -- The Milwaukee Brewers have now won on two Opening Days this season -- once in Milwaukee, once in Chicago. The Crew spoiled Opening Day for fans of the Cubs by a score of 7-4 on Monday, April 8th. The victory snapped a five-game losing streak.

The final score however, does not reveal the excitement Chicago stirred at Wrigley in the ninth inning. Going into the bottom frame, the Brewers were up 7-2. But the Cubs then proceeded to rally and drive home two runs and load up the bases before the Brewers finally shut this game down.

Among the game leaders for the Brewers -- Norichika Aoki had four hits in the game -- and Ryan Braun returned to the lineup going three for four with two doubles.

Marco Estrada pitched seven solid innings for the Brewers at Wrigley Field on Monday. He allowed just two runs on five hits against the Cubs.

The Brewers at back at Wrigley for a night game on Tuesday, April 9th.
