Sale held at Wilson Park Senior Center to support services

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- There was buying and selling to support seniors on Milwaukee's south side this weekend.

70 vendors set up shop at the Wilson Park Senior Center, where they offered a wide variety of items for sale to the general public.

Each vendor paid the center $15, and then kept any profits from their sales.

Meanwhile, the center uses the revenue generated to cover the costs of services and equipment.

"The money that`s generated here goes right into the center, so we couldn`t have the wonderful things that we have, and the wonderful programs that we have without the support of the public," Marica Taddey with the Wilson Park Senior Center said.

Hundreds of shoppers spent hours sifting through the offerings.

The center is scheduled to host another rummage sale in October.
