Dozens of animal carcasses found on Pleasant Prairie farm

PLEASANT PRAIRIE (WITI) -- The Pleasant Prairie Police Department, working in cooperation with the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), located the carcasses of 55 horses, 12 goats and two cows in two separate graves sites at a farm on 128th Ave.

Police received a tip in early April about the conditions at the Pleasant Prairie farm. They executed a search warrant and discovered animals there living in horrible conditions — many of them starving and neglected.

The surviving animals were removed from the farm and are being nursed back to health where possible.

Police arrested the farm’s owners — David White, and his wife, Paula.

Each faces a felony charge of animal mistreatment leading to death. If convicted, they face up to three-and-a-half years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
