Milwaukee to host national ultimate frisbee championships

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee will soon host the 2013 Division III College Championships for ultimate frisbee.

The competition will be held May 18-19. Milwaukee will host 32 teams, 16 each from the open and women’s divisions, representing colleges and universities from across the country as they compete for a national championship.

Teams hailing from schools with a student enrollment of 7,500 or less are eligible for participation in USA Ultimate’s Division III Championship Series. This year’s qualifiers competed in regular-season tournaments and worked their way through a series of postseason conference and regional events to earn bids to the National Championships in Milwaukee.

This year’s Division III College Championships will be held at Uihlein Soccer Park. Located on the north side of Milwaukee, the Uihlein Soccer Park is the area’s premier soccer facility with 13 soccer fields and two lighted stadium fields.

Championship final rounds in both divisions will take place in one of the on-site stadiums.
