MILWAUKEE (WITI) — The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office needs your help to identify a car that was being driven the wrong way on I-43 early Friday, May 17th.

The wrong-way driver entered the northbound lanes of I-43 from the Becher Street off ramp, heading southbound, and sideswiped another vehicle just before 6 a.m. Friday. The operator of the vehicle that was struck called 911 to report a smaller-sized, black car had hit her car. Another witness indicated that the driver of the striking vehicle was a female. No one was able to get a license plate as the wrong way driver fled the scene.

The MCSO Criminal Investigation Division has reviewed DOT video, and obtained video from a nearby building camera. The passenger side of the vehicle may have noticeable damage from the crash.

Anyone with any information is asked to call MCSO dispatch at 414-278-4788.
