Officials identify woman killed on I-43 at Pioneer Rd.

OZAUKEE CO. (WITI) — Officials released on Thursday, May 30th the identity of the woman who was struck and killed by a truck on northbound I-43 at Pioneer Rd. in Ozaukee County. She is Katherine Weiss of Mequon.

The incident happened just before 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28th.

Officials say Weiss was driving an SUV on I-43 when she pulled onto the right shoulder. They say she exited her vehicle and started walking on the interstate when she was struck by a truck.

Weiss was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
