MILWAUKEE (WITI) — Skyward, Inc., an industry leading K-12 school administration software provider, released the following statement Thursday, May 30th in regards to the adoption of a multi-vendor SSIS amendment to the state budget by the Joint Finance Committee.

The statement reads as follows:

Skyward is pleased that the Wisconsin legislature’s Joint Finance Committee has come together in the best interest of the Wisconsin taxpayers and school districts to pass a resolution by a 14:2 vote, which supports a multi-vendor student information system (SIS). Skyward would like to thank Senator Mary Lazich (New Berlin) who authored the proposal and spearheaded the effort in the committee. The company is also thankful for the efforts of Assemblyman Scott Krug (Rome) and Senator Julie Lassa (Stevens Point) plus all the local, state and federal lawmakers, and community and school district leaders, educators and parents in Wisconsin for their continued support. The proposal for a multi-vendor system is consistent with Texas and other states that have recently embarked on establishing an SSIS that enables fair competition in the marketplace while supporting local control. We encourage the full legislature to follow the Joint Finance Committee’s lead in supporting the best interest of the Wisconsin taxpayers and students.

Skyward is looking forward to helping Wisconsin school districts provide the strongest educational services possible to Wisconsin students. The company will continue to deliver comprehensive support and training and powerful data management solutions that exceed schools’ evolving needs. In addition, Skyward looks forward to continually serving its loyal and satisfied customers in Wisconsin, throughout the country and globally, helping them meet accountability and reporting requirements, and increase operational efficiency, parental involvement and student achievement.
