30 grams of heroin recovered during traffic stop

RACINE CO. (WITI) -- Racine County sheriff's deputies recovered 30 grams of heroin during a traffic stop early Saturday, June 1st.

The deputies stopped the vehicle traveling northbound on I-94 for a traffic violation. While speaking to the driver of the vehicle, a deputy smelled an odor of burning marijuana coming from the vehicle.

The vehicle was searched and the drugs were recovered.

The value of the heroin is estimated to be about $4,500. A small amount of marijuana and prescription pills were also recovered.

The passenger/owner of the vehicle was a 27-year-old female from Milwaukee. She was taken into custody and held at the Racine County Jail for the following charges:


    The operator of the vehicle was released and has no pending charges. The suspect’s name is being withheld as the investigation continues.
