(CNN) -- The "Powerhouse" wildfire has destroyed at least six homes in Los Angeles County since it started on Thursday, May 30th.

Officials say the five doubled in size in the last 12 hours, and has burned at least 1,900 acres of land.

Around 1,000 had to evacuate their homes overnight.

The U.S. Forest Service says the fire is around 20% contained. It says high temperatures, shifting winds, rugged terrain and downed power lines are making it hard to fight the fire.
