West Allis man charged following domestic disturbance

WEST ALLIS (WITI) -- 51-year-old Michael Seifert of West Allis is facing criminal charges for endangering safety while using a firearm during a domestic disturbance and failing to comply with officer's attempts to take him into custody.

According to the criminal complaint, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1700 block of S. 70th street at approximately 1:02 a.m. on Saturday, June 8th for a domestic disturbance.

Upon arrival, information was obtained that a firearm may have been involved in the domestic situation and officers secured the area around the residence

According to the complaint, Seifert initially refused requests to come outside and speak with police. However, negotiations began and Seifert ultimately came outside.

During dialog and interaction, shots were fired and Seifert suffered gunshot wounds. After sustaining gunshot wounds, the suspect dropped his firearm but refused to comply and further resisted officers’ attempts to take him into custody.

Seifert was taken into custody and transported to the hospital for treatment.
