First concert ever planned for inside Miller Caves

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A concert is planned for Sunday night, June 16th -- the first of its kind to occur inside the historic Miller Caves on the MillerCoors campus.

John C. Reilly, star of films including “Chicago,” “Boogie Nights,” “Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story,” “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby” and “Gangs of New York,” will bring his bluegrass music project to the caves.

The Miller Valley caves, where Frederick J. Miller stored his earliest brews 60 feet underground more than 150 years ago, have a seated capacity of 50 people and a standing capacity of 100 people, according to MillerCoors’ website.

The caves were dug by hand in 1849, and Miller stored beer there until the invention of refrigeration in 1906, according to The Pabst.
