Loved ones gather to remember man killed in crash

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The community came together on Saturday night, June 15th to remember a man killed in a crash last week.

73-year-old Lee Green was driving on 28th Street near Teutonia on Thursday, June 13th.

He was attempting to make a left turn on Teutonia when he was hit by an oncoming car.

Green's door flew open, and he was thrown from the vehicle.

On Saturday night, Green's family members and friends gathered at the sight of the accident for a candlelight vigil.

They prayed and released balloons in Green's memory.

The family says they're still looking for answers.

"The people who did this, the cause of the accident, we really don't know. But we just want justice and the people who was involved to be honest and truthful about the situation so that we can put this behind us," Green's daughter-in-law, Tyeshia Green said.

It is still unclear as to what caused this accident.

A witness says a man was driving, but none of the men in the car had a valid license.

However, a woman has stepped up, claiming she was the driver.

Police continue to investigate.
