Kenosha man killed when his motorcycle is struck by car

KENOSHA (WITI) -- Officials say a 26-year-old Kenosha man was killed in a motorcycle crash involving a motor vehicle on Monday, June 17th.

It happened at 39th Avenue and 52nd Street.

Officials say the man was driving a 2002 Yamaha motorcycle, headed southbound on 39th Avenue.

The other driver, a 69-year-old Kenosha man was driving a 2003 Honda SUV, and was exiting a parking lot onto 39th Avenue in the 5200 block. He was struck by the motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Officials say the driver of the Honda showed no signs of impairment, and submitted to a blood test.

Witnesses say just before the accident, the motorcyclist had pulled out onto 39th Avenue in the 5100 block when they saw the man rapidly accelerate, forcing his front wheel up off the ground.

The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet -- according to officials.
