Packers release Desmond Bishop

GREEN BAY -- The Packers have released inside linebacker Desmond Bishop, who missed all of last year after suffering a torn hamstring during an exhibition game.
Facing a logjam at the position after re-signing Brad Jones and restructuring the contract of A.J. Hawk, the team tried to trade Bishop, without success.
The man who wore number fifty-five was scheduled to make almost 3.5 million dollars this season.
The classy Bishop tweeted that he'll forever be thankful for being a member of the Packers.
He is scheduled to have a visit with the Minnesota Vikings on Tuesday.
