Scattered showers, storms likely Tuesday evening, overnight

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Heavy rains over the last several days have increased the risk of flooding. Many area rivers and streams are near or above flood stage. Keep a close watch on the weather if you live a a flood prone area. Also, a Flash Flood Watch is in effect for Walworth Co.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely this evening and overnight. The best chance for any severe weather is located over Iowa and Illinois. However, we cannot rule out a few strong storms in our area.

The bigger threat with tonight storms and any we'd see on Wednesday will be flooding. The ground is already saturated from heavy rains over the last week. In addition, our storms could be slow movers dumping heavy rains for an extended period before finally moving out.

Rain chances stay in the forecast through Saturday.

Tonight: Mild and muggy. Periods of showers and T'storms. Low: 72°. Wind: S 5-10 mph

Wednesday: Warm and humid. Chance of scattered showers and T'storms. High: 84°. Cooler lakeside. Dewpoints upper 60s. Wind: SE 5-10 mph
