Why so tired on Mondays? Survey says: "Social jet lag"

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Happy Monday! Are you feeling tired today? Many of us dread Mondays and the fact that we must get up in the morning and head back to the grind of the work week.

As it turns out, a new survey has found there may be a reason why we're all so tired on Monday!

A survey by Toluna Global Omnibus found that 39% of people get the worst sleep on Sunday nights!

The survey found 39% of people have difficulty drifting off to sleep on Sunday nights -- more than double the percentage of those who had the hardest time falling asleep on Saturday night.

Researchers blame this on what they call "social jet lag," saying when you stay up later on Friday and Saturday nights, and consequently sleep in on Saturday and Sunday mornings, you essentially shift your entire biological clock.
