PHOENIX — Home runs by catcher Jonathan Lucroy (2-run) and All-Star Carlos Gomez staked the Brewers to a 3-0 lead, but pitcher Yovani Gallardo couldn’t hold it; eventually, the Arizona Diamondbacks rallied for a 5-3 victory on Thursday night in Phoenix.

Gallardo, 7-0 lifetime vs. the D-backs, allowed 3 earned run over 6 innings.
Martin Prado’s 2 out, 2 run single off losing pitcher Jim Henderson in the bottom of the 8th inning provided the winning margin.
The teams play game 2 of the 4 game series on Friday night at Chase Field.
