Milwaukee Co. Courthouse to partially reopen on Monday
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee County Courthouse will partially reopen on Monday, July 15th; it has been closed this week while the building is cleaned from smoke damage from an electrical fire last weekend.
County officials say crews will work through the weekend. Barring unforeseen circumstances, the fifth, sixth and seventh floors of the Courthouse will be open to the public on Monday.
Opening those floors will allow all Criminal, Family, Small Claims Cases and Jury Trials to resume on Monday.
The smoke damage is more extensive on the other levels of the Courthouse and will require a longer cleanup, but crews are working hard to get that done as soon as possible.
For the rest of this week the following services remain available; please note new locations:
Courts
County Clerk
Register of Deeds
Department of Family Care
Child Support Services
