Construction to begin on I-43 in Ozaukee Co. Monday

OZAUKEE CO. (WITI) -- Construction crews will begin a $9.8 million bridge rehabilitation project on I-43 in Ozaukee County on Monday, July 15th.

The project will rehabilitate four bridges over I-43 - Sauk Road, North Woods Road, County B and WIS 32/County H - and will continue for the rest of the summer and into the 2014 year.

With the exception of WIS 32/County H, the bridges will be closed to through-traffic during construction. The rehabilitation project will shutdown for the winter in late November and pick up again in the spring of 2014.

Along with the bridge rehabilitation, the contractor, Lunda Construction, will also repave the shoulder on the northbound and southbound I-43, which will mandate Monday through Friday lane closures.
