Walworth Co. child reported missing found safe

WALWORTH CO. (WITI) -- An 11-year-old boy with special needs reported missing at the Bloomfield Preserve Hunt Club near Genoa City was found at a friend's house safe late Friday, July 12th.

Several departments responded to the call to help search for the child shortly before 6 p.m..

Law enforcement agencies, including the Walworth County Sheriff's Department, fire departments from Twin Lakes and Lake Geneva, as well as the Richmond Fire Department in Illinois, brought in ATV's to assist in the search for the boy. A helicopter was also used in the effort.

The boy was found safe at a neighbor's home around 10:30 p.m. He is now back with father.
