Sunday is 14-year anniversary of Big Blue crane collapse

MILWAUKEE (WITI) — 14 years ago Sunday, July 14th the crane known as Big Blue collapsed during the construction of Miller Park.

The crane was setting a 400-ton piece of steel into place when strong winds caused it to tip.

Three iron workers were killed.

A statue honoring the victims stands just outside the front gates of Miller Park.
