Suicide in Pritchard Park connected to shooting

PLEASANT PRAIRIE (WITI) —  Police discovered a 44-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds Tuesday evening, July 23rd in the 9200 block of Cooper Road after receiving a 911 call for a subject who had been shot. The suspect accused of shooting the 44-year-old man took his own life after officers arrived at his location.

According to police, when Pleasant Prairie Rescue arrived on the scene they transported the  44-year-old victim to St. Catherine’s Hospital, however, due to the serious nature of his injuries he was transported to Froedtert Hospital by Flight for Life.

The suspect was located a short time later at Pritchard Park near Durand Avenue and Ohio Street after authorities received a call from him advising of his location.

The suspect, a 43-year-old man from Salem, Wisconsin told the 911 operator what he had done and took his own life as officers arrived in the area.

The names of the parties involved are being withheld pending notification of family members.
