Study shows coffee can help to alleviate depression

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A few cups of coffee a day may be a lifesaver!

Harvard researchers did a review of three U.S. health studies, including more than 200,000 people.

Causes of death were tracked during the study period by reviewing death certificates.

277 deaths were the result of suicide.

The analysis showed suicide risk among adults drinking two to four cups of coffee a day was half that for those who drank decaffeinated or less-caffeinated coffee.

While researchers found a link between coffee drinking and suicide risk, their study did not prove drinking coffee will prevent suicide, or that upping your caffeine intake will alleviate depression.
