Packers' all-time leading rusher, Ahman Green goes skydiving with vets

GREEN BAY (WITI) -- When Green Bay Packers' all-time leading rusher Ahman Green put on a uniform, it was usually an NFL jersey, but when the Air and Water Show came to Milwaukee, he sported a jumpsuit and became a part of a team that has nothing to do with football.

Green knows a thing or two about big moments, but even with all the Titletown memories, jumping out of a plane was an experience he will never forget.

"70 thousand fans, skydiving -- you can't compare the two. They're close. They're both fun. Coming out of that tunnel at Lambeau or any stadium for that matter, the crowd is cheering your name, but this right here man I don't think you'll get 70,000 people cheering here -- but I'll take jumping out of a plane any day," Green said.

Green skydived with the All Veteran Parachute Team. He says he was honored to do it with them, as he feels the vets deserve recognition.

"It's easy to do it for them because they've experienced things I've never felt. It's hats off big resepct for them because they sacrficed a lot to do what they did when they were younger," Green said.

Although an NFL vet, Green was a free falling rookie, so the president of the team, Mike Elliott, made sure Green was prepared.

"He made me feel really comfortable up there, down on the ground, giving all the prep, how to put on the suit, basically listen to him, what I need to do, what I need NOT to do and stuff. That stuff was so great, so going up there was all about having fun," Green said.

Elliott says he was impressed with Green.

"He did an awesome job. He was actually falling asleep in the airplane which lead to him being really relaxed. The exit, the free fall, the canopy ride - he was loving it. He just did an amazing job," Elliott said.

Green says he enjoyed the experience.

"I would do it 100 times if I could," Green said.

Elliott and other members of the team say they appreciated Green coming up with them and supporting the military.
