Doobie Brothers guitarist riding vintage Harley to Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- To borrow a line from his own band, a Doobie Brother is "taking it to the streets."

Guitarist Pat Simmons is taking a 1,000-mile trek from Sturgis, South Dakota to Milwaukee on a 1914 motorcycle.

He says he's having fun, even though the old-school Harley is tough to ride at times.

"I have an original seat. I have an Air Hawk cushion on it, that kind of helps me out. But I've got an original seat and it's like concrete," Simmons said.

The Doobie Brothers are scheduled to perform at the Harley-Davidson 110th anniversary party over Labor Day Weekend.
