Waukesha man accused of possessing child porn

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- A Waukesha man faces ten counts of possession of child pornography and one count of sexual exploitation of a child. The accused is 38-year-old Kevin Peeples.

According to the criminal complaint against Peeples, investigators were working undercover on July 12th to locate individuals sharing child pornography. They apparently came across an IP address where that kind of material was being shared in large volumes. About a month later, the criminal complaint indicates the IP address in question was determined to be registered to Peeples.

The criminal complaint says investigators then got a search warrant for Peeple's home -- and found two computers, one of them a laptop, that had large volumes of child pornography. We will not be sharing the specifics of what investigators found on those computer because it is extremely graphic.

When interviewed by authorities, Peeples "did indicate that he knew his files were being shared over the internet." He did "admit to using file sharing websites to download mainstream movies but would change the subject when child pornography was discussed."

If convicted of the charges, Peeples faces up to 40 years in prison and $100,000 in fines. Peeples is due back in court for his preliminary hearing on Friday, August 30th.
