Greenfield Fire Dept. hosts 9/11 remembrance Wednesday



GREENFIELD (WITI) -- On the 12th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks, ceremonies were held honoring those who lost their lives on September 11th, 2001 across the country. On such ceremony was held in Greenfield on Wednesday.

Members of the Greenfield Fire Department invited the public to join them in their 9/11 remembrance.

They, like others across the country Wednesday worked to make sure people don't forget the tragedy that occurred 12 years ago that stunned the country.

The ceremony began at 5:00 p.m., and included an ambulance dedication to Army Spec. Scott Nagorski.

Nagorski of Greenfield joined the Army in July of 2006, and was killed on November 14th, 2010 in Afghanistan.

He was killed at age 27, in Kunar province, Afghanistan, when insurgents attacked his unit with small arms fire.

Nagorski is buried at Wood National Cemetery in Milwaukee.
