Milwaukee woman charged in stabbing death of Fitzroy Willie

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- 43-year-old Leanna Millen of Milwaukee is facing one count of first-degree reckless homicide in connection with the stabbing death of Fitzroy Willie.

Willie was found lying on the sidewalk in the 2700 block of S. 13th on September 7th by police after a citizen notified officials. Willie was allegedly stabbed to death following an argument with Millen at a nearby tavern.

According the criminal complaint, a citizen witness told police that shortly after the incident occurred they received a call from Millen. During the phone conversation, Millen allegedly said, "I killed Roy." According to witnesses, "Roy" was Fitzroy Willie's nickname.

The criminal complaint indicates that three citizen witnesses spoke with Millen following the stabbing. During their conversations, Millen allegedly stated that Willie came to her residence earlier in the evening and attempted to rape her. She told witnesses that she eventually got him to leave and then went to a nearby tavern.

According to the criminal complaint, Willie was also at the tavern, and an argument between Millen and Willie broke out.

According to the criminal complaint, Millen left the bar, went back to her residence, grabbed a knife and then stabbed Willie in the street. Millen allegedly told witnesses that she threw the knife over a bridge following the stabbing.

According to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner, Willie sustained a stab wound to his lower left abdomen. The Medical Examiner says the wound was approximately five inches deep.

If convicted, Millen could face up to 60 years in prison.
