WAUWATOSA (WITI) — The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office says a father took his son from Children’s Hospital, and fled the hospital grounds.

It happened on Wednesday evening, September 11th.

Sheriff’s officials say as the man was fleeing the grounds, he struck a security guard with the vehicle he was driving, and took off.

Officials say he also struck a pole near 92nd and Watertown Plank Road.

Law enforcement officers pursued him, and he was taken into custody.

The man could face charges for striking the security guard with his car, and may receive a citation for striking the pole.

The security guard reportedly suffered minor injuries.

Children’s Hospital told FOX6 News it cannot comment on this case at this time, due to federal healthcare patient privacy laws.
