Students at Waukesha North sign pledge to not text and drive

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- Some high school students in Waukesha have taken a pledge not to text and drive.

Waukesha North High School held a pledge drive on Thursday, September 19th, as part of the national "It Can Wait" campaign.

There was also an online simulator giving students an opportunity to feel what it is like to be behind the wheel and trying to read and respond to messages.

"You can really compare it to drinking and driving. We realize that as students it is against the law to text or use your phone at all with a probationary license and we want to spread that message to students and let them be aware all the dangers of texting and driving," Adam Kouhel said.
