Four detained after trying to make purchase at Delafield Best Buy

DELAFIELD (WITI) -- Delafield police officers were called out to Best Buy in Delafield Tuesday afternoon, September 24th just after 11:00 a.m. for a suspicious woman trying to buy a large amount of electronics with a credit card.

Officials say the staff became suspicious when the credit card did not match the with the woman's name.

Officials say the same woman was denied a purchase earlier in the day, but returned just after 11 and purchased $3,500 worth of Apple iPads. When she tried to purchase more items, police were called.

Officials discovered three additional subjects in the van, and they, along with the woman, were detailed.

Police are now investigating possible credit card fraud and ID theft, and other theft offenses.

Police say the four people detained are from out-of-state.
