Racine Co. man charged with possessing child porn

RACINE CO. (WITI) -- 32-year-old Daniel Olszewski of Kansasville faces ten counts of possession of child pornography and a disorderly conduct charge.

According to the criminal complaint, Olszewski's girlfriend indicated to police that on Monday, September 23rd, she was using Olszewski's "phone to look up a recipe on the internet and that she had gone outside to get better service." The girlfriend stated that she accidentally touched a bookmarked site on the phone. She told police she saw "pictures of girls as young as four or five years old" taking part in sexual acts with grown men.

The complaint indicates the girlfriend confronted Olszewski about the photos. The complaint says Olszewski "forcefully tried grabbing the phone from her and knocked it out of her hand, causing it to fall on the floor." There was an apparent struggle for the phone -- and the complaint indicates Olszewski eventually "forced the phone from (his girlfriend's) grasp...and ran into the house."

The criminal complaint says the girlfriend then grabbed her own cell phone and locked herself and her children in her vehicle until she could call 911 and wait for police to arrive.

Investigators say they were able to extract 157 photographs from Olszewski's phone, 31 of which could be labeled child pornography.

In an interview with police, Olszewski "admitted that he had an addiction to child pornography and that he needed help."

Olszewski will be back in court on Wednesday, October 2nd for his preliminary hearing.
